AGM 2026 OF THE IAP
The Annual General Body Meeting of the Institute of Architects, Pakistan (IAP), was held on October 31, 2026, at the IAP Secretariat Islamabad, as well as at the Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Chenab, and Multan chapter offices, and via Zoom. The quorum for the meeting was achieved through the representation of member architects from all IAP chapters across Pakistan.
Chaired by President IAP Ar. Fawad Suhail Abbasi, the AGM commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. The first agenda item was the confirmation of the minutes of the Annual General Body Meeting held on October 28, 2025. This was followed by the Honorary Secretary's report on IAP activities during the year, presented by Ar. Toobia Yousaf. Chairperson BAE-IAP, Ar. Bisma Sami Askari, then presented a brief overview of BAE-IAP activities over the past year.
The Honorary Treasurer IAP, Ar. Husnain Raza Khan, presented the audited accounts for the year 2025–2026, followed by the appointment of auditors for the year 2026–2027. The next agenda item was the announcement of the annual elections for the National Council for the year 2026–27.
Three (03) positions were vacated this year upon the completion of the three-year tenure by *Ar. Muhammad Tahir Khattak, Ar. Faryal Sikander, and Ar. Hafsa Imtiaz.*
A total of five (05) nominations were received for the three (03) upcoming vacancies on the National Council by the specified deadline.
Following the withdrawal of two (02) candidates and the completion of the scrutiny process, three (03) candidates were found to fulfil the eligibility criteria.
As there were three (03) vacancies to be filled and three (03) eligible candidates, the following were declared elected unopposed:
1. Ar. Maria Aslam
2. Ar. Abdullah Mansoor
3. Ar. Raza Ahsan
Immediately after the AGM, the 1st National Council meeting for the year 2026–2027 was held via Zoom, during which the following office bearers were elected:

• Ar. Imran Khalil, Vice President
• Ar. Toobia Yousaf, Honorary Secretary
• Ar. Husnain Raza Khan, Honorary Treasurer

The National Council for the year 2026–2027 now consists of:
