In Conversation with Ar. Zohaib Zuby

The event was held on December 1st, 2023, at IAP House, Karachi. It was attended by architects and architecture students from various schools in Sindh. Ar. Zohaib Zuby presented his work and then informally interacted with the participants.

Ar. Zohaib Zuby has an interdisciplinary background in philosophy and architecture. Having graduated as an architect in 2007, he worked as a social activist for two years after founding a youth movement. He specialized in Wittgenstein Studies during his MA in Muslim Cultures from the Aga Khan University, Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilizations, London, in 2012.

Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, where he teaches Design Studio, History, Philosophy, and Islamic Reformism. He is also the Principal Architect at Zuby Design Collective, a design practice nurtured under the tutelage of Pakistan’s pioneer interior designer Danish Azar Zuby. The practice works in architecture, urban, and interior design disciplines, with a specialization in affordable housing. Zuby has won the Lin-Habitat + UIA 2030 “Honourable Mention” accolade for his Wallah’s House, completed in 2021
