Pakistan and IAP was represented well at the International Green Building Conference (IGBC) from 26-28 June 2023 in Singapore. Fellow Member of IAP & Immediate Past President of CAA Ar. Kalim Siddiqui and Past Vice President & Current Chairman of IAP Rawalpindi/Islamabad Chapter Ar. Fawad Suhail Abbasi attended the event alongside Ar. Jamshaid Khan.

IGBC was hosted by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) with attendees from across the world and paper presentations and construction materials exhibition was also held during the event. The formal opening ceremony was inaugurated by Ms. Indranee Rajah, the Second Minister for National Development Singapore who spoke about the initiative being taken by the government, their SDG, Sustainable Development Goals for the future and what they have planned for a carbon zero Singapore. She told the audience of the challenges being faced due to climate change and what the government has already envisaged for the betterment of its people.

The other Speakers included SGBC President Mr. Lee Ang Seng, CEO WorldGBC, Ms. Christina Gamboa, MD AkzoNobel South East Asia, Mr. Oscar Wezenbeek,Centre Director Singapore Polytechnic, Dr. Edna Chan, GM Azendian, Mr. Koh Liat Huat to name a few. They all shared their insights on the way forward and what they have been able to achieve in their various capacities within their organizations.

Q&A Sessions followed after every talk with some intuitive knowledge sharing and data from the many R&D programs across the region. The Pakistani Delegation was able to meet and attend networking sessions with attendees from South Asia, South East Asia, Australia, United States and Europe.

Collective meetings, city tours and factory visits were also organized during the three days which was extremely fruitful and attended by Delegates from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore.
