9th cycle of IAP Graduate Award 2016-17 to recognize exemplary thesis work was carried out in April 2017. Eighteen nominations were received from nine accredited schools of Architecture within Pakistan. The Jury Members assessed all nominations as presented to them anonymously. After reviewing all nominations in multiple rounds, the Jury unanimously declared ‘Porosity as a mean to achieve synergy between architecture and its context’ by Salman Ur Rehman of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi to be worthy of receiving IAP Graduate Award for the year 2016-17 along with three honorable mentions given to Khizer Hussain Laghari of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi, Sehrish Najam of School of Art and Design, NUST, Islamabad and Unaizah Syed of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi. The jury was hosted by Lahore Chapter and the panel consisted of:
