Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) in collaboration with the Institute of Architects Pakistan- Karachi Chapter (IAP-KC) had launched an Ideas and Design National Competition for architects within Pakistan.

PNSC is exploring various options for the rehabilitation of Muhammadi House, located on main I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi. At present this property owned by PNSC is substantially vacant and PNSC’s aim is to possibly use the existing super structure to maximize the rentable space and a return in investment

The submissions were judged by a panel of expert jury members including Ar. Arif Changezi (President IAP), Ar. Syed Akeel Bilgrami (Past President IAP), Ar. Saad Mahmood Khan (Vice President IAP), Ar. Naheed Kazmi (Associate Member IAP), Mr. Khurrum Mirza, (Representative from PNSC) and Ar. Ramiz Baig (Convenor Competition).

The Jury found merit in recommending 02 Honorable Mentions and a single winner (1st Prize).

President IAP Ar. Arif Changezi (President – IAP), Ar. Ramiz Baig (Convener Competition) and Ar. Maria Ansari (Chairperson IAP- Karachi Chapter) acknowledged the efforts of all jury members.

Institute of Architects Pakistan- Karachi Chapter (IAP-KC) and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) extend warmest congratulations to the winner and the special mentions and thank all the participants for submitting their entries. The Award ceremony will be held in March 2021 with IAPEX by the IAP Karachi Chapter.
